AHN provides family medicine, internal medicine, pediatric primary care, preventive services, routine checkups, vaccinations, chronic-condition management, and referrals to specialists. Its network of physician offices gives patients access to ongoing care across the greater Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania region.
AHN hospitals provide emergency treatment for serious injuries, illness, trauma, stroke symptoms, cardiac emergencies, and other urgent conditions. Emergency departments operate around the clock, while specialized trauma and tertiary services are available at larger hospitals within the network.
Allegheny General Hospital is one of AHN’s flagship academic and tertiary-care hospitals in Pittsburgh. It provides advanced cardiovascular services, surgery, trauma care, neuroscience, transplantation-related care, medical education, research, and multiple complex specialties.
AHN Wexford Hospital is a full-service hospital serving Pittsburgh’s northern communities. It expands access to inpatient care, emergency medicine, surgery, imaging, women’s services, and other specialties without requiring every patient to travel into central Pittsburgh.
AHN provides oncology services through its cancer-care network, including medical oncology, radiation oncology, cancer surgery, infusion treatment, diagnostics, precision medicine, and supportive services. Cancer programs are available across multiple regional facilities so patients can receive more treatment closer to home.
AHN’s cardiovascular programs treat heart disease, vascular conditions, heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, structural heart disease, and other complex conditions. Services range from diagnostic cardiology and outpatient management to interventional procedures and advanced cardiac surgery.
AHN provides orthopedic and musculoskeletal services for joint conditions, sports injuries, fractures, spine problems, arthritis, and other mobility-related issues. Treatment may include physical therapy, imaging, injections, minimally invasive procedures, joint replacement, and other orthopedic surgery.
Neurology and neurosurgery services address stroke, epilepsy, brain and spinal disorders, movement conditions, nerve diseases, headaches, and complex neurological cases. AHN combines physician expertise with diagnostic imaging, surgery, rehabilitation, and multidisciplinary care.
AHN provides obstetrics, gynecology, maternity services, breast care, reproductive healthcare, maternal-fetal medicine, and other services for women. Programs are available across hospitals and physician offices throughout the network.
Behavioral-health programs support patients dealing with mental-health and substance-use conditions. Depending on the facility, care may include outpatient treatment, crisis assessment, psychiatric services, counseling, and integrated behavioral support.
AHN performs inpatient and outpatient surgery across numerous specialties. Its hospitals and ambulatory surgery facilities offer procedures ranging from common general surgery to complex cardiovascular, neurological, cancer, orthopedic, and robotic procedures.
Rehabilitation services include physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as specialty rehabilitation after surgery, stroke, injury, neurological illness, or other major medical events. Care may be delivered in inpatient, outpatient, or community settings.
AHN extends selected medical and supportive services beyond hospitals through home and community-based healthcare programs. These services are designed to improve continuity for patients who need follow-up, recovery, chronic-care management, or other support closer to home.
AHN maintains a research institute supporting clinical studies, medical innovation, and new treatment approaches. Research activity is integrated with the network’s clinical specialties and helps clinicians evaluate new therapies, technologies, and care models.
AHN MyChart gives patients digital access to appointments, records, test results, bills, messages, and other account services. Technical support is available by phone at 833-246-2478, option 4, or by email at MyChart@ahn.org.

For appointments, call 412-362-8677. For a general business inquiry, headquarters can be reached at 412-330-2400 weekdays. Billing questions should use 844-801-8400, while patients who need health guidance can contact the AHN Nurse Line at 412-687-7348. Using the department-specific line generally produces a faster response than starting with the corporate office.
For complaints about a hospital stay, physician office, staff interaction, patient safety, or quality of care, AHN encourages patients to submit feedback through its official feedback process. Have the facility name, provider or department, date of service, patient information, and any existing case or billing numbers ready so the concern can be investigated accurately.

Before filing a complaint, gather the patient’s name, date of birth where appropriate, facility or office name, dates of service, provider names, billing statements, photographs where relevant, and records of earlier conversations. Do not include unnecessary sensitive health information when communicating through unsecured channels.
If the patient is still receiving care, raise the concern with the nurse, physician, department manager, or other responsible staff member as soon as possible. Many communication, comfort, scheduling, and service concerns can be addressed while the patient is still at the facility, making early discussion one of the fastest routes to resolution.
If the problem is not resolved by frontline staff, ask for the hospital or facility’s patient-relations, patient-experience, or administrative representative. Provide a clear description of what happened, the dates involved, previous staff contacts, and the outcome you want. Keep the name of each person contacted and any case or reference number provided.
AHN’s Contact Us page invites patients to submit praise as well as concerns about patient safety and quality of care. Use the official feedback process and provide enough information for AHN to identify the facility and service involved without sending unnecessary sensitive material through unsecured channels.
For bills, charges, financial assistance, or payment disputes, call 844-801-8400 and select option 1. Explain which charge is disputed, identify the date of service, provide any insurance explanation of benefits, and request that the account be reviewed before sending unrelated clinical complaints through the billing department.
For record-access concerns, use AHN’s Medical Records process. MyChart technical issues should be directed to 833-246-2478, option 4, or MyChart@ahn.org. Keeping technical-account complaints separate from clinical grievances makes it easier for each department to resolve the correct issue.
If the complaint remains unresolved after Patient Relations or the relevant department responds, request additional administrative review. Provide previous case numbers, names of employees already contacted, a concise timeline, and any written response you believe did not address the concern.
A serious unresolved complaint can be sent to Allegheny Health Network Headquarters, 120 Fifth Avenue, Suite 2900, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Include contact information, the hospital or facility, dates, previous complaint numbers, and the requested resolution. Send copies rather than original medical or financial documents and keep proof of delivery.
If the complaint concerns professional conduct, hospital quality, licensing, or patient safety and remains unresolved, the appropriate external route can include the Pennsylvania Department of Health, a professional licensing board, or an accreditation body depending on the issue. Use the regulator that actually oversees the type of care or professional involved.
Privacy complaints may involve the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, while insurance disputes may need to go through the applicable health plan or state insurance regulator. Civil-rights concerns should be routed through the appropriate nondiscrimination process. Keep AHN correspondence and all supporting documents before filing externally.
