KFC
KFC Corporation (doing business as KFC, originally Kentucky Fried Chicken) is the world’s second-largest restaurant chain by sales — a global quick-service restaurant (QSR) powerhouse operating more than 31,980 locations across 150 countries and territories as of September 2025, trailing only McDonald’s in global restaurant footprint. Founded by Colonel Harland Sanders in Corbin, Kentucky in 1930 — first as a roadside service station where Sanders perfected his now-legendary Original Recipe of 11 herbs and spices — KFC has grown from a single gas station kitchen into the world’s premier fried chicken restaurant brand, serving billions of customers annually across every continent except Antarctica. KFC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM) — the world’s largest restaurant company by number of locations, which also owns Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and The Habit Burger & Grill. KFC is led by KFC Division CEO Scott Mezvinsky, who assumed the role on March 1, 2025, succeeding longtime CEO Sabir Sami.
In a landmark and historically significant move, Yum! Brands announced in February 2025 that KFC’s U.S. corporate headquarters would be relocated from Louisville, Kentucky — where KFC had been based since 1997 — to Plano, Texas, co-locating with Pizza Hut’s global headquarters at Yum!’s Plano campus. The move, affecting approximately 100 on-site corporate employees and 90 remote positions, was described by Yum! Brands as designed “to foster greater collaboration among brands and employees.” Yum! Brands retained its corporate offices and the KFC Foundation in Louisville, preserving the brand’s Kentucky legacy connection. Despite U.S. same-store sales declining 4.3% in 2025 amid intensifying fast food competition, KFC’s global unit growth remained robust: in Q1 2026, KFC opened 648 gross new restaurants across 45 countries — a Q1 record for the brand — driving 7% unit growth and 9% profit growth.

You can also submit a formal complaint or guest feedback through the online contact form at kfc.com/contact — the most direct written channel for U.S. customer concerns. Provide the restaurant location, visit date and time, order details, and a description of your experience, and include your contact information for follow-up. For email correspondence, write to feedback@kfc.com or customercare@kfc.com. KFC also responds to customer messages through its @KFC account on X (Twitter) and the official KFC Facebook page.
KFC’s headquarters history is deeply intertwined with the story of American fast food — and the brand’s 2025 relocation from Louisville, Kentucky to Plano, Texas marked one of the most symbolically significant corporate moves in QSR history. For nearly three decades (1997–2025), KFC operated from its iconic “White House” headquarters at 1441 Gardiner Lane in Louisville — a three-story white colonial-style building whose resemblance to the U.S. President’s official residence earned it that nickname, and which housed KFC’s executive offices and research and development facilities. The decision to relocate to Plano consolidated KFC and Pizza Hut under one roof at Yum! Brands’ Global Restaurant Support Center campus in Plano, Texas — while Taco Bell and The Habit Burger & Grill remain in Irvine, California. The KFC Foundation, Yum!’s Louisville corporate office, and key legacy Kentucky operations remain in place, maintaining the brand’s meaningful connection to its Commonwealth home.

For all formal written customer complaints and legal correspondence in the United States, write to KFC Corporation, 14841 Dallas Parkway, Plano, Texas 75254, Attn: Customer Relations. For correspondence related to legacy Louisville operations or the KFC Foundation, write to 1441 Gardiner Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40213. Include your full name, the restaurant address and location number, date and time of visit, order details, a detailed description of your complaint, all prior contacts made, and the specific resolution you are requesting.
Step 1 — Address the Restaurant Manager On-Site
For immediate food quality complaints, incorrect orders, or service issues, address your concern directly with the Shift Manager or Restaurant Manager at the KFC location where the issue occurred. Because approximately 99% of KFC locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees, the franchisee’s management team has primary authority over day-to-day operations. Most immediate issues can be resolved on the spot.
Step 2 — Call 1-800-CALL-KFC (1-800-225-5532)
If your complaint cannot be resolved at the restaurant level, call KFC’s U.S. customer service toll-free line. Have the restaurant address, your order receipt or details, and the date and time of your visit ready. Ask the representative to formally log your complaint and provide a reference number for follow-up.
Step 3 — Submit the Online Contact Form
Visit kfc.com/contact and complete the online contact form with the restaurant location, date and time of visit, order details, and a detailed description of your complaint. Online submissions go directly to KFC’s corporate guest relations team and are the preferred channel for written formal complaints in the U.S.
Step 4 — Email Customer Care
For formal written documentation, email feedback@kfc.com or customercare@kfc.com. Include your full name, the restaurant location, date and time of visit, order details, a description of the issue, and the specific resolution you are requesting.
Step 5 — Request Escalation to a Supervisor
If the first representative cannot resolve your complaint, ask to speak with a supervisor or the guest resolution team. Supervisors have authority to formally escalate complaints to franchisee operators and regional managers for follow-up and resolution.
Step 6 — Write to the Corporate Headquarters
For formally unresolved complaints, write to KFC Corporation, 14841 Dallas Parkway, Plano, Texas 75254, Attn: Customer Relations. Include all prior contacts, reference numbers, receipts, photos, and the specific resolution you are requesting.
Step 7 — File a BBB Complaint
File a public complaint with the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org. KFC holds an A rating with the BBB and a formal complaint filing typically prompts a corporate-level escalated response.
Step 8 — File a Complaint With the FDA or Local Health Department
For complaints involving food safety, foodborne illness, foreign objects in food, or unsanitary restaurant conditions, file a complaint with your local county health department or environmental health department immediately. For serious food safety concerns, also contact the U.S. Food and Drug Administration at fda.gov/safety/report-a-problem/food-safety-problems or call 1-800-FDA-1088. Always seek medical attention first for any potential foodborne illness.
Step 9 — File a Complaint With the FTC
For complaints involving deceptive pricing, misleading advertising, or unauthorized charges through the KFC app, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov or by calling 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357).
