How to File a Complaint Against UPS

Step 1 — Track the Shipment

First check the UPS tracking information to determine the latest status and location of the shipment.

Step 2 — Contact UPS Customer Service

For U.S. shipments, contact UPS Customer Service at 1-800-742-5877 or use the official UPS support resources.

Step 3 — Provide Shipment Information

Have the tracking number, sender and recipient information, shipment date, delivery address, and other relevant details available.

Step 4 — Explain the Complaint Clearly

Describe the problem, including delayed delivery, lost package, damaged package, incorrect delivery, billing issue, customs issue, or another service problem.

Step 5 — File a UPS Claim

If a package is damaged, lost, or otherwise eligible for a claim, submit the appropriate UPS claim with the shipment information and supporting documentation. UPS provides an online claims process for delivery problems.

Step 6 — Provide Supporting Documentation

Keep copies of invoices, receipts, photographs of damaged packaging, tracking information, shipping documents, correspondence, and proof of value.
