Synovus
Synovus
Synovus is a long-established Southeastern U.S. financial-services brand with roots going back more than 130 years in Columbus, Georgia. Historically, Synovus Financial Corp. operated Synovus Bank and provided consumer banking, commercial banking, small-business banking, mortgages, treasury-management services, wealth management, investment services, trust services, and specialized financial solutions. The organization developed a particularly strong presence across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee and built its reputation around relationship-based banking for individuals and businesses.
A major corporate change took place at the beginning of 2026. Synovus Financial Corp. and Pinnacle Financial Partners completed their merger, with the holding-company transaction effective January 1, 2026 and the bank merger completed January 2, 2026. The former Synovus Financial Corp. and legacy Pinnacle holding company both merged into a new Georgia corporation that now operates as Pinnacle Financial Partners, Inc. Synovus Bank then merged into Pinnacle Bank, with Pinnacle Bank surviving as the legal banking entity. Customers continue to see the Synovus name during the integration period, but the combined organization has announced that the banking brands are expected to consolidate under the Pinnacle name in early 2027.
The combined organization is substantially larger than legacy Synovus. At closing, it had estimated pro forma assets of approximately $117.2 billion, deposits of about $95.7 billion, loans of approximately $80.4 billion, more than 400 locations across nine states, and more than 8,000 team members. The combined holding company is headquartered in Atlanta, while Pinnacle Bank’s legal bank headquarters remains in Nashville. Synovus continues to maintain a major operational presence in Columbus, including Synovus Place and other local banking offices.

For most banking questions, the best starting point is 1-888-796-6887. Synovus’ phone system asks customers to state the reason for calling and can either provide self-service assistance or connect the caller with a Client Care representative. Before calling, have the account type, customer name, account or card information, transaction date, and any previous case details ready. Never give online-banking passwords or one-time security codes to an unsolicited caller.
Mortgage customers should use 1-800-803-0803 rather than general Client Care when the question is specific to a mortgage. Borrowers experiencing mortgage hardship should call 1-800-346-7918. Investment customers may need Synovus Securities at 1-800-332-3403, while international-banking customers can use 1-877-848-4685. Choosing the correct department usually makes it easier to reach a specialist without unnecessary transfers.
Because Synovus and Pinnacle merged in January 2026, customers should also be prepared for branding and system changes during the transition through early 2027. Existing Synovus contact channels continue to operate, while the combined organization is gradually moving toward the Pinnacle brand.
Synovus no longer operates as an independent bank holding company.
The current combined holding-company headquarters is
Pinnacle Financial Partners, Inc.
3400 Overton Park Drive
Atlanta, GA 30339
United States.
Pinnacle has also announced a future corporate headquarters at Ten Twenty Spring in Midtown Atlanta, with the new office intended to bring senior and executive leadership together.
A major Synovus operational presence continues at
33 West 14th Street
Columbus, GA 31901
United States
The combined organization has publicly committed to maintaining a significant operational and community presence in Columbus following the merger.
For general Synovus Client Care

Before the 2026 merger, Synovus Financial Corp. was headquartered in Columbus, Georgia.
That standalone holding company ceased to exist after the January 2026 transaction. The Synovus name continues temporarily as a customer-facing banking brand, with consolidation under Pinnacle planned for early 2027.
Complaints may involve account fees, unauthorized transactions, card problems, mortgage servicing, loan payments, branch service, digital banking, investments, fraud, privacy, or other financial matters. Before escalating, keep account statements, transaction dates, receipts, screenshots, correspondence, previous case numbers, and the names of employees already contacted.
Call 1-888-796-6887 and explain the complaint to Synovus Client Care. Identify the account type, transaction or service involved, date of the issue, and the outcome you are requesting. If the concern involves suspicious activity or a lost card, make clear that it is urgent so the representative can take appropriate account-protection steps.
Use the department that controls the disputed product. Mortgage customers can call 1-800-803-0803, mortgage-hardship customers 1-800-346-7918, securities customers 1-800-332-3403, and international-banking customers 1-877-848-4685. Specialized staff will generally have greater authority and access to the relevant records than general Client Care.
If the first representative cannot resolve the issue, request review by a supervisor, branch manager, mortgage-servicing manager, fraud specialist, or other appropriate manager. Provide the prior case number and a concise timeline so the reviewer does not have to reconstruct the complaint from the beginning.
Send a documented written complaint through the appropriate Synovus secure-message, branch, banking correspondence, or customer-service channel. Written complaints should identify the account involved, disputed amount, dates, prior contacts, and specific resolution requested. Avoid sending passwords, PINs, or unnecessary sensitive credentials in ordinary email.
For a serious unresolved corporate matter, correspondence relating to the current combined organization can be directed to Pinnacle Financial Partners, Inc., 3400 Overton Park Drive, Atlanta, GA 30339. Synovus-specific operational correspondence may also be directed to its established Columbus presence at 33 West 14th Street, Columbus, GA 31901.
Fraud, mortgage-loss mitigation, credit-card disputes, securities complaints, and privacy issues should be routed through the specialist responsible for that type of matter. For example, mortgage borrowers facing hardship should use 1-800-346-7918, while privacy options have a separate 1-800-695-0987 contact.
Banking complaints may be eligible for review by the Federal Reserve, FDIC, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, state banking regulator, SEC, or FINRA, depending on the legal entity and product involved. Securities complaints should generally follow the securities-regulatory route, while deposit, lending, and mortgage disputes may fall under banking or consumer-finance regulators.
Customers can also consider a state Attorney General, consumer-protection office, payment-card dispute process, or credit-reporting dispute if the complaint involves unauthorized charges, inaccurate credit reporting, deceptive practices, or another qualifying consumer issue. Maintain a complete file of statements and correspondence before filing externally.
If internal escalation and regulatory channels do not resolve a significant financial dispute, review the account agreement for arbitration, mediation, notice, venue, and litigation provisions. Consider obtaining advice from a qualified attorney before beginning formal proceedings, particularly where substantial funds, foreclosure, investment losses, or complex contractual issues are involved.
