Burger King
Burger King Corporation (stylized as BURGER KING®, abbreviated BK) is the world’s second-largest hamburger fast food restaurant chain — a Miami, Florida-based quick-service restaurant powerhouse operating more than 18,700 locations across 100+ countries and U.S. territories worldwide. Burger King was founded in 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida as Insta-Burger King by Keith Kramer and Matthew Burns — inspired by McDonald’s original San Bernardino operation — before being purchased by its Miami franchisees James McLamore and David Edgerton in 1959 and relaunched as Burger King Corporation. The brand’s signature Whopper sandwich, introduced in 1957, became one of the most iconic fast food items in history. Today Burger King operates as an independently operated subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International Inc. (NYSE/TSX: QSR) — the Toronto-based fast food parent company also owning Tim Hortons, Popeyes, and Firehouse Subs — and is led by Tom Curtis, President of Burger King U.S. and Canada, with RBI CEO Joshua Kobza at the parent company level.
Burger King is in the midst of one of its strongest turnaround periods in brand history. In Q1 2026, Burger King U.S. delivered comparable sales growth of 5.8% — its highest in nine quarters — powered by the revamped Whopper, smart value promotions, restaurant remodel program, and a remarkable customer engagement initiative in which Burger King President Tom Curtis personally answered 1,500 customer phone calls in 2026 (with the system fielding 64,000 total calls year-to-date). At the RBI parent company level, Q1 2026 revenues grew 7.3% to $2.26 billion, net income doubled to $445 million ($0.97 per share), and Burger King International posted 5.7% same-store sales growth. RBI reaffirmed its 8%+ organic adjusted operating income growth algorithm through 2028 at its February 2026 Investor Day.

Burger King has been headquartered in the Miami, Florida area since its founding as a corporate entity in the 1950s — and Miami remains one of the most fitting homes imaginable for a global fast food brand, given the city’s international orientation, its proximity to Latin America and the Caribbean (two of BK’s strongest global markets), and its vibrant, diverse business community. Burger King occupied a nine-story office tower at 5505 Blue Lagoon Drive near Miami International Airport for many years before constructing its current purpose-built 150,000-square-foot, five-story Restaurant Support Center at 5707 Blue Lagoon Drive — just down the same street — where it has been based since 2018. The current headquarters is a modern, purpose-designed corporate campus housing Burger King’s president, full U.S. and global leadership teams, marketing, operations, supply chain, technology, franchise relations, finance, legal, and human resources. The 5505 Blue Lagoon Drive address is still referenced by many directories as a legacy Burger King address and remains associated with the corporation in public records.

For all formal written customer complaints and legal correspondence, write to Burger King Corporation, P.O. Box 1809, Miami, Florida 33102, Attn: Guest Care — or use the physical address 5707 Blue Lagoon Drive, Miami, Florida 33126. Include your full name, restaurant location, date of visit, order details, a detailed description of your complaint, all prior contacts made, and the specific resolution you are requesting.
Step 1 — Address the Restaurant Manager On-Site
For immediate food quality, order accuracy, service, or cleanliness complaints, speak directly with the Shift Manager or Restaurant Manager at the Burger King location where the issue occurred. Restaurant managers have authority to remake sandwiches, issue refunds on the spot, and resolve service failures immediately. This is always the fastest first step and resolves the vast majority of BK complaints on the same visit.
Step 2 — Call 1-888-218-7853 (BK Guest Care)
If your complaint cannot be resolved at the restaurant level, call BK Guest Care at 1-888-218-7853 or the alternate line at 1-866-394-2493. Available Monday–Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET. Have your restaurant address, visit date, order details, and description of your complaint ready. Ask the representative to formally log your complaint and provide a case reference number.
Step 3 — Submit an Online Complaint at bk.com/support
Submit a formal written complaint through the BK Guest Care online form at bk.com/support. Select your issue category (food quality, service, mobile order, app issue, etc.), enter your restaurant location, visit date, and a detailed description of your complaint. BK Guest Care typically responds within 3–5 business days.
Step 4 — Email contactus@bk.com
For formal written documentation of your complaint, email contactus@bk.com. Include your full name, restaurant location, visit date, order details, a description of the issue, and the specific resolution you are requesting. Attach photos of food quality or receipt issues when applicable.
Step 5 — Request Supervisor Escalation
If the first Guest Care representative cannot resolve your complaint, ask to be escalated to a supervisor or the Guest Relations team. Supervisors have broader authority to issue exception credits, coordinate with franchisee operators, and formally escalate unresolved complaints to the corporate level.
Step 6 — Write to the Corporate Mailing Address
For formally unresolved complaints, write to Burger King Corporation, P.O. Box 1809, Miami, Florida 33102, Attn: Guest Care. Include your full name, restaurant address, visit date, order details, all prior contacts and case reference numbers, and the specific resolution you are requesting.
Step 7 — File a BBB Complaint
File a public complaint with the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org — Burger King is listed with the BBB’s South Florida chapter and a formal complaint typically prompts a corporate-level response from BK’s Guest Relations team.
Step 8 — File a Complaint With the FDA or Local Health Department
For food safety complaints — including foodborne illness, foreign objects in food, or unsanitary restaurant conditions — contact your local county health department immediately. For serious food safety concerns, also contact the U.S. Food and Drug Administration at fda.gov/safety/report-a-problem/food-safety-problems or call 1-800-FDA-1088. Always seek medical attention first for any potential foodborne illness.
Step 9 — File a Complaint With the FTC
For complaints involving deceptive pricing, misleading advertising, unauthorized charges through the BK app, or failure to honor advertised promotions, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov or call 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357).
Step 10 — Contact the Florida Department of Agriculture
For Florida-based consumer food safety and labeling complaints involving Burger King restaurants, contact the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services at fdacs.gov or call 1-800-HELP-FLA (1-800-435-7352).
