About Sedgwick

Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. (commonly known simply as Sedgwick) is the world’s largest third-party claims administrator (TPA) and a premier global provider of technology-enabled risk, benefits, and integrated business solutions — managing claims and delivering loss adjusting, managed care, and productivity solutions on behalf of thousands of insurers, self-insured corporations, government entities, and other organizations worldwide. Founded in 1969 in Memphis, Tennessee, Sedgwick has grown from a boutique regional claims firm into a global enterprise operating across 80 countries with more than 33,000 colleagues worldwide. Sedgwick is 100% privately held and is majority-owned by The Carlyle Group — one of the world’s largest private equity firms — which acquired a controlling stake in 2018. Sedgwick is led by CEO Mike Arbour, who was promoted to the role in early 2024 following the transition of longtime CEO and company builder Dave North to Executive Chairman (North retired from the Executive Chairman role effective June 30, 2024, remaining on the board of directors).

Sedgwick manages workers’ compensation claims, disability and absence management, property loss, liability, marine, and specialty claims for some of the world’s largest and most recognizable corporations — including Walmart, Amazon, Target, FedEx, General Motors, and hundreds of other Fortune 500 companies that outsource their claims functions to Sedgwick. Under Dave North’s 25-year tenure as CEO (1995–2020), Sedgwick grew from $50 million in annual revenue to more than $4.6 billion — a 92-fold revenue increase that made it the undisputed industry leader in third-party claims administration. Today Sedgwick’s annual revenue exceeds $4.6 billion, and the company handles more than 2.8 million claims annually.

Claimants should use the claim number and contact information provided in their initial claim acknowledgment letter from Sedgwick, or log in to MySedgwick at mysedgwick.com to find their adjuster’s direct contact information.

How to Reach a Real Person at Sedgwick

The most effective way to reach a live Sedgwick claims professional is to log in to the MySedgwick portal at mysedgwick.com — Sedgwick’s proprietary online claims management platform — where claimants can view their claim status, review claim documents, send secure messages directly to their assigned adjuster, and access a direct phone number and extension for their dedicated claims examiner or adjuster. The MySedgwick portal is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for self-service claim management.

For direct phone access, call the specific Sedgwick toll-free number provided on your claim acknowledgment letter, Explanation of Benefits (EOB), or correspondence from Sedgwick — as claim lines are program- and client-specific and vary significantly based on whether your claim involves workers’ compensation, short-term disability, property damage, or another coverage type. If you do not have a program-specific number, call the viaOne technical support line at 1-866-647-7610 and ask to be directed to the correct claims department. You can also use the contact form at sedgwick.com/contact/ to submit a general inquiry.

Sedgwick Headquarters & Corporate Office Address

Sedgwick has been headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee since its founding in 1969, and has anchored its global corporate headquarters in the Southwind business park on the southeast side of Memphis for decades. In 2017, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam announced a $34 million expansion of Sedgwick’s Memphis headquarters that consolidated all operations onto a single Southwind campus and added 150 new high-quality jobs — reflecting Sedgwick’s deep commitment to Memphis as its global home base. The primary campus at 8125 Sedgwick Way (also referenced as 8215 Sedgwick Way in some directories) is a sprawling 650,000-square-foot campus of highly integrated office space built around a five-acre lake — developed in partnership with Boyle Investment Company and constructed in 1996 as a dedicated headquarters facility. The campus houses Sedgwick’s CEO and full global executive leadership team, claims operations, technology and R&D, managed care, finance, legal, human resources, marketing, and all major corporate support functions.

For all formal written correspondence and legal notices, write to Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc., 8125 Sedgwick Way, Memphis, Tennessee 38125. For claims-specific correspondence, include your full name, claim number, Social Security Number (last four digits), the employer or insurer name whose claim Sedgwick is administering, the date of loss, and a detailed description of your inquiry or complaint.

How to File a Complaint Against Sedgwick

Step 1 — Contact Your Assigned Adjuster Directly
The fastest and most effective first step for any claims dispute is to contact your assigned Sedgwick claims examiner or adjuster directly. Log in to MySedgwick at mysedgwick.com to find your adjuster’s name, direct phone number, and email address. Reference your claim number in all communications and ask the adjuster to document your complaint formally on the claim file.

Step 2 — Request Escalation to a Supervisor or Manager
If your adjuster does not resolve your complaint, ask to speak with their direct supervisor or the branch/unit manager. Supervisors and managers have authority to override adjuster decisions, expedite delayed claims, authorize additional medical treatment, and escalate unresolved issues to senior leadership. Request a formal complaint ticket number for follow-up.

Step 3 — Contact Your Employer’s HR or Risk Management Department
Because Sedgwick administers claims on behalf of your employer or their insurer, your company’s Human Resources, Benefits, or Risk Management department has direct authority to escalate complaints with Sedgwick — they are Sedgwick’s client and hold significant leverage over claims outcomes. If you are experiencing delays or denials, contact your HR or Risk department immediately and ask them to intervene with Sedgwick on your behalf.

Step 4 — Submit a Formal Written Complaint
Submit a formal written complaint through the Sedgwick contact form at sedgwick.com/contact/ or by emailing the relevant claims address listed on your claim correspondence. For MySedgwick platform issues, email Help@sedgwickcms.com. Include your full name, claim number, a detailed description of your complaint, all prior contacts made, and the specific resolution you are requesting.

Step 5 — Write to the Corporate Headquarters
For formally unresolved complaints, write to Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc., 8125 Sedgwick Way, Memphis, Tennessee 38125, Attn: Customer Relations. Include your full name, claim number, employer name, date of loss, all prior contacts, and the specific resolution you are requesting.

Step 6 — File a Complaint With Your State Workers’ Compensation Board
For workers’ compensation claim disputes — including delayed medical approvals, denied claims, or unreasonable delays in benefit payments — file a formal complaint with your state’s Workers’ Compensation Board or Commission. State WC boards have regulatory oversight over all workers’ compensation claims activity in their state, including claims administered by TPAs like Sedgwick, and can order compliance and penalties.

Step 7 — File a Complaint With Your State Insurance Department
For disability, liability, and property claim disputes, file a formal complaint with your state’s Department of Insurance. State insurance regulators have jurisdiction over claims handling practices and can investigate unreasonable delays, wrongful denials, and other Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act (UCSPA) violations.

Step 8 — File a Complaint With the DOL for FMLA Violations
For complaints specifically involving Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration — including improper FMLA denials, retaliation, or failure to follow proper FMLA procedures — file a formal complaint with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division at dol.gov or call 1-866-4-USA-DOL (1-866-487-2365).

Step 9 — Consult a Workers’ Compensation or Disability Attorney
For complex claims disputes involving significant medical or wage benefits, consult a licensed workers’ compensation or disability attorney in your state. Most workers’ comp and disability attorneys take cases on contingency — meaning no upfront cost — and can represent you before the state WC board or in court if necessary.
