Nissan USA
Nissan USA operates primarily through Nissan North America, Inc., the regional company responsible for Nissan’s automotive business across the United States and broader Americas organization. Nissan first entered the U.S. market in 1958, and Nissan North America was later established to coordinate sales, manufacturing, engineering, design, finance, distribution, and other regional operations. Today, its headquarters is located at One Nissan Way, Franklin, Tennessee 37067.
Nissan’s U.S. operations extend well beyond vehicle sales. The company maintains vehicle and powertrain manufacturing operations, engineering and research facilities, Nissan Design America in California, a Silicon Valley technology operation, vehicle financing through Nissan Motor Acceptance Company, parts distribution, dealer support, connected-car services, and regional sales organizations. Nissan Americas Chairman Christian Meunier leads more than 40,000 employees across North and South America and is based at the Franklin headquarters.
Nissan is part of Japan-based Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and Nissan North America, Inc. is currently identified by Nissan as a wholly owned regional headquarters operation. As of March 31, 2026, Nissan’s official global corporate directory continued to identify One Nissan Way in Franklin as the headquarters for management of Nissan Americas operations.

Before escalating a complaint, collect the vehicle’s VIN, mileage, dealer name, repair orders, warranty information, purchase or lease contract, dates of previous service visits, photographs if relevant, and all existing Nissan case numbers. This helps distinguish a dealership issue from a manufacturer, finance, warranty, safety, or connected-service complaint.
For a sales, repair, warranty, maintenance, or staff complaint, begin with the Nissan dealership involved. Ask for the Service Manager, Sales Manager, or General Manager depending on the problem. Provide the VIN, repair-order number, dates, and a clear description of the requested resolution. Because Nissan dealers are separate legal entities, many transactional and service problems are handled first at the dealership level.
If the dealer cannot resolve the problem, call 800-647-7261. Provide the VIN, dealer information, mileage, service history, and details of what has already been attempted. Ask Nissan Consumer Affairs to open or update a formal case and keep the case number. Current support hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Central Time.
If the first Consumer Affairs response does not resolve the complaint, request additional review by a senior specialist or appropriate Nissan case-management team. Explain the requested remedy clearly and provide repair invoices, diagnostic findings, warranty records, photographs, or correspondence supporting the complaint. Keep a chronological record of every call and response.
Financing or leasing complaints should be directed to NMAC at 800-456-6622 for retail accounts or 800-777-7018 for leases. NissanConnect and owner-portal issues should use 855-426-6628, EV-specific support can use 877-664-2738, and Commercial Vehicle customers can use 877-647-6281.
For an unresolved manufacturer-level complaint, send written correspondence to Nissan North America Consumer Affairs, P.O. Box 685003, Franklin, TN 37068-5003. Include your contact information, VIN, dealership, mileage, repair history, case number, and requested resolution. Attach copies rather than original documents and retain proof of mailing.
If the complaint involves a potential vehicle safety defect, accident-related defect, or safety-related pattern, consumers can also report the issue to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A safety complaint is different from a normal warranty disagreement, so retain technical records, photographs, warning messages, and repair documentation.
For repeated substantial defects that Nissan or an authorized dealer has been unable to repair, review the lemon-law and warranty rules applicable in the state where the vehicle was purchased or registered. Requirements differ significantly by jurisdiction, including repair-attempt thresholds, mileage, ownership period, and formal notice requirements.
Depending on the purchase agreement, warranty booklet, financing contract, and state law, an unresolved dispute may be eligible for arbitration, mediation, or a consumer-protection complaint. State Attorney General offices and other consumer agencies may handle deceptive-practice or unresolved business complaints. Preserve all dealer and Nissan correspondence before escalating.
If the dispute involves substantial financial loss, injury, repeated safety failures, denied warranty rights, or a complex financing issue, consider obtaining advice from a qualified attorney familiar with automotive consumer law in the relevant state. Provide the attorney with the complete repair history, sales or lease agreement, Nissan case records, and any regulator submissions.
