About AutoZone
AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE: AZO) is the largest retailer and one of the leading distributors of automotive replacement parts and accessories in the United States — a Fortune 300 Memphis-based powerhouse serving both do-it-yourself (DIY) consumers and professional mechanics through more than 7,000 stores across the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, and Puerto Rico. Founded in 1979 in Forrest City, Arkansas by J.R. “Pitt” Hyde III under the original name “Auto Shack” — renamed AutoZone in 1987 — the company transformed the American auto parts retail industry by pioneering a warehouse-style, self-service retail format offering an unmatched parts selection at competitive prices alongside knowledgeable AutoZoner associates. AutoZone is incorporated in the state of Nevada and is led by President and CEO Philip “Phil” Daniele, who assumed the role in 2023, with CFO Jamere Jackson.
AutoZone is on an aggressive growth trajectory in fiscal year 2026, targeting 350–360 new store openings globally — up from 304 stores opened in all of fiscal 2025 — backed by a $1.6 billion capital expenditure plan. In Q2 fiscal 2026 (reported March 3, 2026), AutoZone delivered an 8.1% increase in total sales, 3.4% domestic same-store sales growth, and 14.5% commercial sales growth year-over-year, reflecting the strength of its DIFM (Do It For Me) professional installer business. AutoZone’s commercial business — serving professional repair shops, dealerships, and fleet operators — is the company’s primary growth engine, with Mega-Hub and Hub store expansion placing more inventory closer to commercial customers.

AutoZone Headquarters & Corporate Office Address
AutoZone has been headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee since its founding era, and has occupied its current flagship headquarters — the J.R. Hyde III Store Support Center — since October 1995. The Store Support Center is a 270,000-square-foot, eight-story office tower located at 123 South Front Street in downtown Memphis — a prominent building on Memphis’s famous South Front Street corridor along the east bank of the Mississippi River, in the heart of the city’s downtown commercial and historic district. The building was named in honor of J.R. “Pitt” Hyde III, AutoZone’s founder, who received the honor upon the opening of the new headquarters facility. As of its last public reporting, the Store Support Center housed more than 1,200+ corporate associates. The campus and surrounding downtown Memphis location reflects AutoZone’s deep and longstanding roots in the Bluff City, and the company continues to be one of Memphis’s largest corporate employers and most visible Fortune 300 anchors.

How to File a Complaint Against AutoZone
Step 1 — Address the Store Manager On-Site
For in-store complaints involving parts quality, associate conduct, pricing discrepancies, or warranty issues, address your concern directly with the Store Manager at the AutoZone location where the issue occurred. AutoZone store managers have authority to process returns under AutoZone’s 90-day return policy, approve warranty part replacements, and resolve service failures on the spot. This is always the fastest first step.
Step 2 — Call 1-800-288-6966
If your complaint cannot be resolved at the store level, call AutoZone’s main toll-free customer service line and inform the representative that you wish to file a formal complaint or speak with someone from corporate. The representative will assist you or escalate your concern to the Customer Satisfaction Department. Available Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM CT, Saturday 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM CT, Sunday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM CT.
Step 3 — Call the Complaints Escalation Line
For formally escalated complaints, call 1-877-541-0404 — AutoZone’s dedicated complaints escalation line. This is a more direct channel to the corporate customer satisfaction team for complaints that were not resolved through the main customer service number.
Step 4 — Email or Submit an Online Contact Form
For a formal written record of your complaint, email customer.service@autozone.com or submit the online contact form at autozone.com/contactus. Include your full name, store location, date of purchase, receipt number, a detailed description of the issue, and the specific resolution you are requesting. AutoZone responds within 24 to 48 hours.
Step 5 — Request Escalation to a Supervisor
If the first customer service representative cannot resolve your complaint, ask immediately to be escalated to a supervisor or the Customer Satisfaction Department. Supervisors have broader authority to approve warranty replacements outside the standard window, coordinate with store management, and initiate formal corporate-level resolutions.
Step 6 — Write to the Corporate Office
For formally unresolved complaints, write to AutoZone, Inc., 123 South Front Street, Memphis, Tennessee 38103, Attn: Customer Satisfaction Department. Include all prior contacts, case reference numbers, receipts, photos, and the specific resolution you are requesting.
Step 7 — File a BBB Complaint
File a public complaint with the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org. AutoZone holds an A+ rating with the BBB and a formal complaint filing typically prompts an escalated corporate response.
Step 8 — File a Complaint With the FTC
For complaints involving deceptive pricing, misleading advertising, failure to honor warranties, or unauthorized charges, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov or by calling 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357).
Step 9 — Contact the Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs
For Tennessee-based consumer protection complaints involving AutoZone’s corporate practices, file a complaint with the Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs at tn.gov/consumer or call 1-800-342-8385.
