VyStar Credit Union
VyStar Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. It offers checking and savings accounts, credit cards, personal loans, vehicle financing, mortgages, home-equity products, business banking, investment services, insurance, online and mobile banking, financial education, and other financial products. As a credit union, VyStar is structured to serve members rather than outside shareholders.
VyStar was founded on April 29, 1952 as Jax Navy Federal Credit Union at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. Twelve founding members began the credit union with a combined $60 to provide military and civil-service personnel and their families with a safe place to save and borrow money. The organization expanded its field of membership over the following decades and adopted the VyStar Credit Union name in 2002.
Today, VyStar is one of the largest credit unions in the United States. It has surpassed 1 million members, operates more than 80 branches, and reported assets exceeding $14 billion as it approached the million-member milestone in 2024. The credit union is led by President and CEO Brian Wolfburg and continues to emphasize its military heritage, community giving, member ownership, and financial education.

For most member-service issues, call 904-777-6000 or 800-445-6289 Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Be ready with your member information, the type of account involved, transaction date, loan or card details, and any previous case number. Do not provide account passwords, PINs, or one-time authentication codes to unsolicited callers.
For mortgage questions, VyStar uses the same Contact Center numbers, while investment-service inquiries can also be routed through the main Contact Center. If the matter is easier to handle face-to-face, schedule a branch appointment. Branch representatives can help with account servicing, card issues, lending questions, fraud documentation, and other member needs.
Fraud should be handled differently from ordinary member service. During business hours call the main Contact Center and use the appropriate fraud option. For certain debit-card fraud issues outside business hours, call 904-908-2329 or 866-897-8272. Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately so the card can be disabled or replaced.
Complaints may involve checking or savings accounts, fees, loans, credit cards, mortgages, fraud claims, branch service, online banking, wire transfers, account access, or investment-related services. Gather statements, transaction dates, account or loan information, correspondence, screenshots, and prior case numbers before beginning the escalation process.
Call 904-777-6000 or 800-445-6289 and explain the complaint. Ask the representative to document the issue and give you any available reference or case number. Provide the specific transaction, account, branch, or product involved, but never provide sensitive credentials such as a password or authentication code.
If the complaint is product-specific, use the department responsible for that service. Mortgage concerns can be routed to mortgage servicing, fraud to the fraud team, investments to VyStar Investment Services, and card disputes to the appropriate card-support channel. Using the correct specialized team usually shortens the resolution process.
If the first representative cannot resolve the issue, request a supervisor, branch manager, lending manager, fraud specialist, or other management review. Explain what has already happened and identify what remains unresolved. Keep notes of every conversation, including names, dates, times, and promised follow-up.
Use secure Online Banking, branch correspondence, or the official Contact Us process to put the complaint in writing. Include the account or loan type, dates, disputed amount if relevant, previous support history, and the resolution you want. Written communication creates a stronger record for subsequent regulatory review.
For an unresolved serious complaint, send written correspondence to VyStar Credit Union, VyStar Tower, 76 S. Laura Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202. Regular USPS mail can be sent to P.O. Box 45085, Jacksonville, FL 32232-5085. Keep copies and use tracked delivery when appropriate.
For unauthorized debit transactions, card fraud, forgery, or other suspicious account activity, use VyStar’s fraud-reporting process. Debit fraud can be reported at 904-777-6000 or 800-445-6289, Option 2, with after-hours support at 904-908-2329 or 866-897-8272. VyStar describes formal investigation and provisional-credit procedures for qualifying claims.
Credit-union complaints can be submitted to the National Credit Union Administration Consumer Assistance Center. The NCUA publishes Consumer Assistance at 800-755-1030 and directs consumers to its Consumer Assistance Center for complaints involving accounts and loans at federally insured credit unions.
Depending on the issue, consumers may also use the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau complaint process. The CFPB accepts complaints involving checking and savings accounts, credit cards, mortgages, vehicle loans, money transfers, and other consumer financial products, and can refer complaints to the appropriate prudential regulator where necessary.
If the dispute remains unresolved, review the membership agreement, loan agreement, cardholder terms, mortgage documents, or other contract governing the account. Those documents may contain dispute-resolution, arbitration, notice, or litigation requirements. For significant financial losses or complex legal issues, consider obtaining advice from a qualified attorney.
