Neuralink
Neuralink
Neuralink Corp. is a privately held neurotechnology and medical-device company developing implantable brain-computer interface technology. The company was founded in 2016 and is closely associated with co-founder and CEO Elon Musk. Neuralink’s core objective is to build a high-bandwidth interface between the human brain and computers, initially focusing on restoring independence and communication capabilities for people with severe neurological or mobility impairments.
Neuralink’s system combines an implantable brain device, ultra-fine electrode threads, a robotic surgical platform, wireless signal transmission, machine-learning software, and user applications that decode neural activity into computer commands. Its first major clinical program, the PRIME Study, evaluates the safety of the N1 Implant and R1 surgical robot and the ability of people with severe paralysis to control external digital devices using neural signals.
Neuralink remains privately held and continues to raise private capital rather than operating as a public company. In June 2025, Neuralink announced a $650 million Series E financing, and its current careers and research materials show expanding operations in Fremont, California, South San Francisco, and Austin, Texas. The company’s 2026 updates state that it has reached 21 Neuralink participants, while its careers page reports more than 20 implants in daily use.

The N1 Implant, also called the Link in some Neuralink materials, is a fully implantable, wireless brain-computer interface designed to record neural activity. The device is intended to be cosmetically unobtrusive and communicate wirelessly with external computing systems.
The N1 system uses extremely thin, flexible electrode threads that are inserted into the brain to detect neural signals. These threads are designed to reduce tissue disruption while placing many recording channels close to neurons.
The R1 Robot is Neuralink’s robotic surgical platform. It is designed to insert the N1 Implant’s fine electrode threads into the brain with precision while avoiding blood vessels and other sensitive structures.
Telepathy is Neuralink’s name for the capability that enables implanted participants to control digital devices using thought-driven neural signals. Participants have used the system for cursor movement, computer interaction, gaming, communication, and other daily digital tasks.
The N1 User App decodes movement intention from recorded neural signals and translates that activity into digital control commands. It provides training and interaction tools that help participants control a computer cursor and other interfaces.
The PRIME Study, short for Precise Robotically Implanted Brain-Computer Interface, is Neuralink’s first-in-human U.S. clinical trial. It evaluates the safety of the N1 Implant and R1 Robot and assesses initial BCI functionality in people with severe paralysis.
CAN-PRIME is Neuralink’s Canadian clinical study for its implanted BCI. The study launched after Health Canada authorization and focuses on participants with limited or no ability to use both hands because of ALS or cervical spinal cord injury.
GB-PRIME is Neuralink’s clinical study in Great Britain. The trial opened for recruitment in 2025 through University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The CONVOY Study explores whether participants already implanted through PRIME can use brain signals to control physical assistive devices such as an investigational robotic arm. It is intended to extend BCI control from digital environments into physical assistive technology.
The VOICE Study investigates whether the N1 Implant can help people with severe speech impairment convert neural activity associated with verbal thought into text or speech. Current eligibility focuses on people with certain neurological conditions that impair both speech and upper-limb function.
Neuralink is developing implanted BCI technology aimed at restoring communication for people who cannot speak reliably because of neurological injury or disease. The research seeks to decode cortical signals associated with intended speech.
Beyond computer cursors and keyboards, Neuralink is studying control of assistive robotic devices. This work is intended to help people with paralysis perform physical tasks that cannot be accomplished through digital-device control alone.
Blindsight is Neuralink’s experimental vision-restoration program. Neuralink announced in September 2024 that the FDA had granted Breakthrough Device Designation for Blindsight for individuals with vision impairment. Breakthrough designation does not itself mean the product has received full marketing approval.
Neuralink operates a Patient Registry to identify people who may be interested in current or future clinical trials and to better understand the needs of individuals with neurological conditions. Registry participation does not guarantee or constitute enrollment in a clinical study.
Individuals who enter the Patient Registry may provide medical and demographic information that can help Neuralink assess potential eligibility for research programs. Separate consent and screening processes are required before actual clinical-trial enrollment.
Neuralink develops machine-learning systems that interpret patterns in neural activity and convert them into usable commands. In October 2026, the company reported work using more than 50,000 hours of unlabeled brain data to improve neural decoding and reduce recalibration needs.
The company’s BCI Applications teams build user-facing software and interaction systems that allow participants to use decoded neural signals in practical digital environments.
Neuralink designs implant electronics, wireless-power systems, signal-processing hardware, electrodes, packaging, and other components needed for long-term implanted BCI operation.
The company develops robotics, imaging, control software, mechanical systems, and surgical workflows intended to automate and standardize the placement of flexible neural threads.
Neuralink has developed in-house microfabrication capabilities for producing thin-film electrode arrays and other implant components. Its engineering work includes highly specialized manufacturing and micron-scale fabrication processes.
Neuralink conducts preclinical research to evaluate device safety, surgical techniques, material performance, and system durability before and alongside human clinical development.
Neuralink develops internal infrastructure for handling large multimodal neuroscience datasets. In 2025 the company publicly described datarepo, its platform for managing complex research data.

For general corporate routing, the latest SEC business record lists 650-342-9600 for Neuralink Corp. However, Neuralink is not a consumer retail company, so most meaningful contacts are issue-specific rather than routed through a traditional Customer Service department. Patients and prospective research participants should use Neuralink’s Patient Registry and Patient Portal instead of treating the corporate number as a clinical-help line.
For Patient Registry questions, email patientregistry@neuralink.com. For concerns about how Patient Registry information is handled, contact the Data Protection Officer at dpo@neuralink.com. Current participants in a Neuralink clinical trial should use the contact instructions provided directly by their study team, hospital site, and clinical-research coordinator because medical or device-related issues may require immediate clinical review rather than ordinary corporate support.
For employment questions, use careers@neuralink.com or the official careers portal. If the issue involves a website/legal dispute, the published informal-dispute contact is termsofuse@neuralink.com. These dedicated channels are much more appropriate than attempting to route every request through a single headquarters number.

Complaints may involve website use, privacy, Patient Registry data, recruitment communications, employment processes, clinical-trial participation, research-site concerns, or other interactions with Neuralink. Because Neuralink is a clinical-stage medical-device developer, complaints involving human research or health concerns should be treated differently from ordinary website or corporate complaints. Collect all relevant emails, registry records, consent forms, study documents, dates, participant identifiers, and previous correspondence before escalating.
Neuralink does not operate a traditional consumer Customer Service department. Start with the official channel tied to your issue. Patient Registry matters should go to patientregistry@neuralink.com, careers matters to careers@neuralink.com, and website legal disputes to termsofuse@neuralink.com. Clearly describe the issue, relevant dates, and requested resolution.
If the matter involves a clinical trial, contact your research coordinator, study investigator, or participating hospital site rather than relying solely on Neuralink’s general corporate channels. If it concerns privacy or personal data, contact dpo@neuralink.com. Clinical complaints may need to be evaluated by the study team, institutional review board, or medical provider responsible for participant safety.
If the first contact does not resolve the issue, ask for escalation to the responsible clinical, privacy, legal, recruiting, or business-operations leader. Provide the complete earlier correspondence rather than starting the complaint from scratch. For research concerns, include the trial name, site, relevant dates, and whether the issue affects safety, consent, data handling, or continued participation.
For website-related disputes, Neuralink’s Terms require an informal written complaint sent to termsofuse@neuralink.com before certain formal disputes proceed. For privacy complaints, dpo@neuralink.com is the dedicated written channel. Written communication provides a record that can be used for internal review or later regulatory escalation.
For serious unresolved corporate correspondence, write to Neuralink Corp., 7400 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont, CA 94555. Include your contact information, issue category, dates, prior communications, and the specific corrective action requested. Do not send original medical records unless specifically instructed through a secure clinical process.
Clinical-research complaints should use the complaint, consent, and participant-rights procedures provided by the trial site and study documents. Privacy concerns should use the Data Protection Officer, while website disputes should use Neuralink’s Terms process. These pathways are more appropriate than treating all complaints as general corporate correspondence.
Medical-device or clinical-research complaints may fall under the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, an Institutional Review Board, Health Canada, the UK’s MHRA, or another health-research regulator depending on the study and country. The correct regulator depends on whether the issue concerns participant safety, informed consent, device performance, study conduct, or marketing claims.
Traditional consumer-protection channels are less relevant because Neuralink’s BCI remains investigational and is not sold as a standard retail product. However, website, privacy, employment, or contractual disputes may still fall under applicable state consumer, privacy, labor, or data-protection authorities depending on the circumstances.
Neuralink’s website Terms contain an arbitration agreement and require users to make a good-faith effort to resolve certain disputes informally first by emailing termsofuse@neuralink.com. If the dispute remains unresolved after 30 days, applicable claims may proceed through JAMS arbitration under the published Terms, subject to the scope, opt-out, and exception provisions. Clinical-trial participants should separately review their study consent documents because research-related rights and complaint procedures may differ from the public website Terms.
